Your experience
The PADI or SSI Scuba Diver course is a subset of the Open Water Diver course. If you are short of time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver level could be ideal for you, particularly if you expect to dive mainly with a dive guide. This course is an intermediate step towards Open Water Diver certification, if that is your ultimate goal. PADI or SSI Scuba Divers are qualified to:
Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
Obtain air fills, hire or buy diving equipment and take part in diving activities, provided they are appropriately supervised.
Continue dive training by completing PADI Open Water Diver certification and taking certain speciality diving courses.
To enrol on a PADI or SSI Scuba Diver course (or a Junior Scuba Diver course), you must be at least 10 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and good physical health. No previous diving experience is required, but you can try it first through the programme
